cleantech investors

We are the EU's cleantech innovation pioneers. For the last two decades, we have been investing in the early-stage technologies that will get the world to net zero and create long-term prosperity for the EU.
The innovative companies we grow are high-risk, often capital-intensive and need significant support to scale up. We are on a mission to create a cleaner, fairer economy, and we are in it for the long run.

what we believe in

EU leadership in the race to net zero

The climate crisis is growing more urgent by the day. The EU has the technologies and will to lead the world in the clean transformation. Scaling EU cleantech innovation is the key to industrial and climate leadership.

Innovation and increased industrial competitiveness

In recent decades, the EU has lost out to other regions in sectors like first-generation solar and digital consumer technologies. We now have an opportunity to lead the clean industries of the 21st century. We believe building competitiveness requires investment, dedication and bold policy-making.

High quality jobs and a just transition

The transition will not succeed if it is not just and equitable. Scaling cleantech innovation will create high-quality, long-term jobs.

what we aim for

A green demand shock

The scale up of clean technologies depends on strong and stable demand signals for green solutions. Creating sectoral transition plans, establishing a fair and predictable carbon price and leveraging green procurement are tools the EU can use to get to scale faster.

A step-change in cleantech investment

We call for the creation of at least 10 EU cleantech growth funds, directing more institutional funds to the sector, ramping up funding of non-dilutive instruments and improving access to public markets for EU cleantech innovators.

The rise of EU-wise cleantech champions

Harmonise policies, regulations and standards between member states to help cleantech companies scale faster across the EU. Support the creation of cross-border funds and partnerships to expand accessible markets of portfolio companies.
